Tasting- William Wright

Name: William Wright
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Region: Montery County, CA
Country: USA
Vintage: 2020
Price: $10

Critic Review: This Pinot Noir tastes like sour cherry, licorice, sharp spice, black pepper, and cranberry. The mid-palate offers juicy raspberry, light herbs, a different hit of slightly rough-edged spice, vanilla, and strawberry. The tannins are light and a little chewy and the acidity is well-balanced. Domaine Dave

Wine Folly: pg. 150 Pinot Noir notes: I really got the aroma and taste of the cherry and some of the raspberry. I slightly could get the vanilla in the aroma but it wasn't strong. I couldn't detect the mushrooms or clove notes in my tasting.
pg. 151 For Pinot Noir in the Central Coast California region I could definitely get the sweeter notes and less of that acidity.

My Review: Good! The cherry smells and taste really came through first and stayed for the whole tasting. I found that it was initially dry but after trying it a few times I found it to be actually a bit sweet. The finish was long and gave a nice warm feeling to the back of the throat. For the price of the wine I thought that it was a great value!

I tasted this with no food pairing
